CHALLENGE & CONTEXT
Investigate and provide evidence for insider trading.
Massive amounts of data: events, messages, participants are related across siloed financial systems.
Mission critical: liable for evidence provided to legal teams and in court.
Obscure interactions: ascertain mutually exclusive conversations between participants.
APPROACH & SOLUTION
We leveraged our existing elegant search and faceting UI, which allowed for focus on investigative feature.
The team arrived at a novel UI to visualize the participant groups and direction of communication—that along with AI, quickly reveals suspicious interactions.
Case Manager
We designed a case manager that enhanced both efficiency and accuracy, giving compliance officers total confidence when providing evidence. This was achieved by a user-centered process incorporating interviews and usability testing throughout.
File Search
Archiving financial data is costly and poses risks. With the exponential growth of digital files, we created novel interfaces that highlighted dark data and presented actionable insights. Also capturing a larger market by expanding into the IT department.
Visual Investigation
We designed for mission critical tasks, where a mistake lands you in court. The demonstration above shows how an officer investigates insider trading across a large diverse dataset: using a visual interface with AI that connects unlikely participants.
